Ode to a tempermental sewing machine

Wow this week went by like greased lighting.

I had a staff retreat on Wednesday-Thursday so that broke the week up.

Today I am going down to Eugene with Matt and the Jack-O's to do a craft show, see Ashley, The-Belated-Birthday-Girl, and see some out-of-town family.

I was sewing like crazy at the start of the week so I would have all the stock that I wanted for the show but then my sewing machine decided to stop working. No amount of persuading or cajoling could make it do it's crafty dance. I guess that is it's way of telling me that I have enough.

As I was typing that last line, I looked out my window and saw the neighbors dog starting to squat in our yard. Jackie noticed me looking and saw him too so I opened the door and she shot out to give him the what-for. He didn't notice Jackie until she was about 10 feet away and he moved his little piggy butt faster that I've ever seen him before. Jackie chased him around the corner so I whistled for her to come back and she came trotting over the hill with mud all over her feet and her beagle ears thrown back in triumph.... a job well done. Our yard is safe for yet another day.

I'm still laughing about the piggy-butt dog!

You and Jackie should be bodyguards for some celebrity.

Kingsley would like to chase all the kids down the street by our new house. He is going to have to get used to more people being around. There are also those big squirrels with the bushy tails all over. I don't think he's noticed those yet...

What breed is Jackie? I want to meet her.

...and yes, the track team was running on our street yesterday. I drove by with Kingsley in the back of the Volvo. He went crazy.

I wonder if Jackie can fix your sewing machine?
