In my absence from blog posting, I have been doing quite a few time consuming things. Unfortunately they are all extremely boring and work related so I'll just touch on the non-work, and hopefully non-boring-make-me-want-to-slap-myself stuff.
First, I was late picking Matt up one day from work(don't worry, that's as close as I will get to the evil "W" word from now on) so I was taking the corners a little sharp in the old Honda. As I screeched into the empty parking lot, Matt stormed out of the front door with an angry look on his face. He hopped in the car before I had brought the vehicle to a complete standstill.
Before I could get any words of apology out he exclaimed, "Excuse me! I'm late for a date with my wife. We are going to be late for the movie that I was going to surprise her with!"
I replied in astonishment, "Holy crap, where to?"
He told me the theatre and said, "It's something about Trekking in the Stars, I'm not sure..."
I proceeded to exceed the maximum speed limit back through town the our town's little movie theatre. "Star Trek" was the official title of the movie(just is case you hadn't figure it out) which is a movie that I had been dreading and looking forward too. I grew up with star trek and love it as a kid because my dad love it. I was afraid that they were going to turn it into a Fast and Furious in space... which I hated!! (don't worry Vin Diesel, I still love you. I know, you were really worried).
I was so relieved; I enjoyed it so much. It was such a great portrayal of where the classic Star Trek characters came from. It really grabbed my from the beginning and when it ended I had to check my watch because I thought only 20 minutes had passed! Last but not least, Scottie even mentioned transporting a beagle! Jackie was tickled pink to hear that.

I'm thankful for J.J. Abrams.
this story makes me really miss you guys. more so than on the usual day-to-day basis.
I love a surprise date!!!
ps: I'm pretty sure I drive like a 90 year old woman with a lead foot....it's terrible. One of my girlfriends was riding in the car with me a few weekends ago and stated she had no idea how I survive in the world driving like I do. OOPS!
HAHAHA!
I liked it a lot too. I like Lost as much as the next person, but not really anything else Abrams has done that I've seen. But, yeah, this movie was a pleasant surprise.
I was pleasantly surprised too!!! 10 years ago, if somebody had told me that Star Trek would outperform Star Wars in the prequel category, I would've thought they were crazy.
I like the 60's series, but everything else after that was excruciatingly boring to me. That combined with my extreme skepticism for any film made in the last 35 years, it's a wonder I even thought to go see it, but it's really good!
Jackie and I are getting our spacesuits made for a space walk!
