and a give away of one of my sets on another blog: link
Matt and I are going to the coast today! It will probably be cold and windy... like it always is, but I love being near the ocean. Our friends are getting married by a lighthouse. It should be fun. Jackie knows somethings up as I pack the car and I keep saying, "Jackie, you are going on a supervised field trip!" She knows that means a trip of heavenly bliss through wonderful worlds of sniffable trees and windy car rides.
We went to Eugene this week for a quick visit. It was good to see part of the family and a few friends. I also got to see the new hospital where my dad works. He's worked for 24 years at the hospital downtown but they just built a $500,000,000 hospital north of town where they moved everyone.
It looked like a resort. It was amazing. One of the big-name sculptors that I had done a bit of work for in Eugene had some bronze sculptures being installed in the front, and there were stone carvings on the face of the building. The inside was totally spectacular. I was only able to snap a few shots but you can get the idea.

Here is the drop off area. This lighting was repeated throughout the interior.

This is a clock tower right outside where my dad's office is. Those white panels at the bottom of the tower are carved stone.

This is a shot of the main entrance. There was a balcony wrapping all around the room with this great railing.

Here are the bronze sculptures that were busy being installed. I couldn't get any closer because it was taped off, but they are a variety of figures on stilts. The faces that this artist does are just amazing. I was hoping to get a better shot, but what can you do. I think it was called "a delicate balance" or something similar.
