Excursions at the Farmers Market

Thursday was our little farmers market downtown. I decided to take a quick trip through on my way home to pick up some groceries. In some of the past weeks there were mainly just onions and kale at each booth because we had such a cold spring here. I missed a few weeks of the market so I was pleasantly surprised at what I found this time.

I couldn't believe that I found a melon! They need so much sun and heat, and we don't get that much of it here. It smells delicious. I also got green beans, sweet corn, zucchini, and my new favorite, beets. I always hated beets growing up because I only saw them in cans and they smelled of aluminum. Jessica convinced me that they were tasty grilled, so I tried that and they are so good. I got all of those beets (plus one that I already ate) for 58 cents!

Yay! Heres to Reid, Brielle, and all the rest of the bloggers who actually post on a regular basis!

It's really stupid: When we were at Dordt everyone blogged all the time. Now? Nothing. Stupid.

That picture of your produce looks really good. I can't believe you got all those beets for 58 cents! And I'm glad I convinced you that grilled beet are indeed tasty!

Reub, you charmer.
I like mashed beets. I call them beaten beets.
That was a lie.
